Oobleck, often called "slime," is a non-Newtonian fluid, a mixture of cornstarch and water that behaves like a liquid when at rest and a solid when pressure is applied.

Pre-K loves the woods so much we brought them into the classroom! We’re researching like scientists learning about amphibians and reptiles in woods and swamps.
6th graders are building models with cereal and marshmallows to show their understanding of the structure of atoms. As part of their test score for this unit students identified the atom with its atomic number, mass, and symbol and the correct number of protons, neutrons, and electrons!
Modeling properties of light, like reflection and refraction, isn’t so bad, especially when you use lasers!!!!

The GSB Civil Rights Team Celebrating Winter Festivals and Holidays from around the world with a delicious feast. We had foods from Lunar New Year, Ramadan (Eid), Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and the Sapporo Snow Festival.
Pre-K has begun 6 weeks of Red Cross swim lessons at the Wiscasset rec. A huge thank you to the PTO for helping to fund this incredibly fun and safety building opportunity! It’s a wet and wild time!

Here are our GSB Pi day contestants bravely reciting digits of Pi! Congratulations to our winners: Paton in 5th grade with 170 digits, Crosby in 2nd grade with 110 digits, Ellie in 8th grade with 106 digits & Jhay in 4th grade with 62 digits! Great job everyone!
Mrs. Farnsworth’s class is learning about weather and what makes a rainbow in the sky. We competed a rainbow craft with our 4th grade buddies and made a “walking rainbow” using primary colors.

The multiage 1st and 2nd Graders had a great time learning about animal adaptions in Maine and about building shelters in the forest. Thank you to Sarah Gladu for leading us through the woods so that we could learn to identify signs of animals. We found burrows, woodpeckers holes, and fox tracks!
Mr. Nick has been teaching Kindergarteners about coding during our technology time. They got to use the robots this week.
