The Mad Science After School Program, Radical Robotics, is well underway and very well attended! The focus this past week was on electricity, and how robots get their energy versus how people get energy. We also learned about atoms, protons, neutrons and electrons and how electrons are like pesky mosquitoes buzzing around your head in the summer. This led to a game of students being electrons and passing along different conductive paths and how sometimes there is resistance, and then students experimented with the plasma balls to see what materials were conductive and non-conductive. We finished our time creating complete circuits that lit up lights and powered fans, and also played with Edison Bots which had barcodes that activated programmed movements. Looking forward to the remaining 6 weeks! -Mrs. Flagg

On Friday October 13th the Jefferson Fire and Rescue visited kindergarten to go over fire prevention and the new fire truck.
