NCS Facilities Update and the 10.4 Million Bond
While we (as a school community) respect the process and understand the responsibility that comes with considering a project of this size, I also want to be transparent about what continued delays mean for Nobleboro Central School.
Our staff and students have done an extraordinary job adapting to the loss of a significant portion of our building. We have repurposed spaces, relocated classrooms and services, and worked together to ensure that our students continue to receive the education and support they deserve. We are proud of what we have accomplished.
However, these solutions were never intended to be permanent.
Each delay increases our concern about the challenges ahead. Next year, larger classes will begin moving into our middle school, where space is limited. The longer our K–2 wing and other affected areas remain unavailable, the more limited our options become for addressing enrollment, programming, student services, and the everyday needs of a growing school community.
This is not simply a conversation about restoring and repairing a building. It is about ensuring that Nobleboro's children have appropriate spaces in which to learn—now and for the years ahead.
We will continue to work cooperatively with town officials, community members, local businesses, and our School Committee to answer questions and move this project forward. At the same time, I believe our community deserves to understand that time matters. Delaying a decision does not delay the needs of our students.
Our students will continue to grow and classes will continue to move forward. Our collective responsibility is to make sure Nobleboro Central School is ready for them. In the coming weeks, our community will have important opportunities to make its voice heard. We encourage residents to learn about the proposed project, ask questions, speak with members of the Nobleboro Budget Committee, and participate in the upcoming special town vote.
Our school community has done everything it can to adapt to the space we have. Now, we need a path forward. We hope our town will come together around a solution that gives Nobleboro Central School the space, safety, and stability our children need—not only next year, but for generations to come.

What a Great Start!
It’s been a wonderful first two weeks here at NCS! Our students have been settling in, getting into the rhythm of the school year, and making memories with both new and old friends. There have been lots of smiles, laughter, learning, and new adventures along the way. We’re off to a fantastic start, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!

Our 1st and 7th graders kicked off their first of many weekly writing get-togethers! These writing buddies will have fun sharing ideas, getting creative, and learning from one another throughout the year.

Homework Club is back for another school year! Students in grades 5–8 are welcome to join us on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 2:40–3:40 p.m. Homework Club will begin Monday, September 14th. This is a great opportunity for students to work on assignments, get extra help, and make good use of their time after school. We look forward to seeing our students there!
