A Busy First Month at NCS!
We’ve had a busy and exciting first month here at NCS, and we’re looking forward to sharing some of the highlights with you below!
But first, we need our NCS community to take action. A Special Town Meeting will be held here at NCS on Monday, October 5th. This is an important opportunity for our community to come together and have a voice in the future of our school.
Please make plans to attend (daycare will be provided), learn about the issues, and participate in the town meeting. Your voice and your presence matter. We hope to see a strong turnout of NCS families, staff, alumni, and community members standing together in support of our school and our students.
Mark your calendar. Show up. Make your voice heard.

Elementary students started the year off in PE with Mrs. York by participating in cooperative activities, reviewing expectations and rules, playing tag games, and, of course, having fun!
Currently, classes are learning the fundamentals of soccer, including how to dribble, pass, and shoot, as well as how to protect the goal. Students are developing their skills while staying active and enjoying the game!

Our first graders had a buzzworthy time last Wednesday during their first class with Kyle from Coastal Rivers! Students learned all about the different parts of a flower and the important role pollinators play in helping plants grow.
They got creative by making their own paper flowers and then headed outside for a fun pollinator game—with Cheetos!
The kindergartners enjoyed their first field trip together as a class here at NCS! On Wednesday, they headed to Biscay Orchards for a fun-filled morning of apple adventures.
Students picked their own apples, learned all about how an apple press works, and, of course, enjoyed sipping some delicious fresh apple cider!

Speaking of apples!! Come celebrate AppleFest with us this Saturday! Our 8th graders will be here selling hot dogs, delicious baked goods, and refreshing beverages to kick off their fundraising efforts for their upcoming 8th grade class trip.
Stop by, grab a snack, show your support, and help our 8th graders get their fundraising off to a fantastic start! We hope to see you there!

NCS Pumpkinfest Inspired Art
A big thank you to Barn Door Bakery for giving us the opportunity to proudly display our 7th graders’ Pumpkinfest-inspired artwork! We love seeing our students’ creativity out in the community, and we’re so grateful for local businesses that help showcase their talents.
If you’re in town, be sure to stop by Barn Door Bakery and check out their amazing artwork!

Attention, 4th–8th graders! This event is for YOU!
Want to get outside, get moving, and have some fall fun? Join us for the annual Pumpkin Run at Lincoln Academy!
If you’d like to participate, please see Mrs. York for more information and to sign up. It’s a great way to get active, enjoy the outdoors, and have some fun with friends!
