Miss Hedda came out to the yurt to teach us about native seeds and their benefits. This lesson was sparked by the student's interest in seeds they had collected in the fall from plants surrounding the yurt. They planted some to overwinter and spread the rest around the grounds.

The public vote on the 2023-2024 AOS #93 budget will be held at Great Salt Bay School on Dec 21, 2022, at 6 pm. Good morning from Central Lincoln County!


At its meeting on Feb. 8, the AOS 93 Board announced the selection of Lynsey Johnston as the district's next Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2022. Johnston, who currently serves as the district's assistant superintendent for business, was chosen after an internal search conducted by the board and an interview committee with representation from the district's seven towns and five schools, including a principal, a teacher, a staff member, and multiple parents. She becomes the first woman to serve in the role since the creation of AOS 93 in 2009.


Great Salt Bay School's beloved art teacher, Karen Hight, has been awarded the Prang Art Teacher of the Year Award. Mrs. Hight is a 34 veteran of the Great Salt Bay School staff and has educated and inspired students with her creativity and kindness. Congratulations Mrs. Hight on this achievement!
