This afternoon BCS staff and students attended an end of day assembly. First, students from PreK and 4th grade, winners from February's Coin Slam event, presented $600 checks to representatives from both the New Harbor Food Pantry and Caring for Kids. Mrs. Holmes, Mr. Mullin and Mr. Perry kicked off our Bikes for Books event. Mrs. Cough recognized students who have artwork on display this month at the Bristol Area Library. We enjoyed an awesome presentation by the Bristol. Air Devils. And finally, we watched as the winners of the Pi Day Challenge, memorizing as many digits of Pi as they could, "Pi" Ms. Winchenbach and Mr. York. Fun was had by all!

PreK has just begun Unit 5 in our PreK for ME curriculum. Unit 5: Shadows and Reflections In the classroom we are having fun exploring how light effects people and animals. We are experimenting with light and making shadows, and investigating how reflections are made. We will be spending more time outdoors now that the weather is getting milder. PreK has discussed who are the woodland animals that are in the woods and forests of Maine. We are continuing to learn our letters and letter sounds, and growing our vocabulary, as we work together in the classroom to develop our understanding and communication in positive ways! -Ms. Sawyer
