In Art, Eighth Graders recently made paper pumpkins and then helped put them on display in the showcase. Second Graders made surprise drawings and then Halloween themed puppets. -Mrs. Cough
Hearty Roots
This week, members of Team Waltz discussed how authors punctuated dialogue to show their readers how to read their stories. -Mrs. Waltz
Concrete has been poured for the entrance ramps, landings and stairs to the new cafeteria and the new kitchen. Concrete has also been poured for the sprinkler system pump house on the back of the addition.
Kindergarten listened to Creepy Carrots by Aaron Reynolds along with sound effects on Novel Effect during Library. -Mrs. Holmes

Students in fifth grade have the opportunity to participate in various learning opportunities throughout the year called "Flex" classes. These classes are built around student interests, and different flex classes will be offered throughout the year. The current offerings students are participating in are foreign language (Japanese, German, and Spanish), geography, news reporting, and knitting. An Overview of Unit 2: "Friends "
This month brings us to exploring our friendships, including how to resolve conflict, what it means to be a good friend, helping and cooperating with our friends in the classroom—and at home. We will focus on how to enter play with our classmates, share materials and identify solutions when social conflicts arise. We are also beginning to identify rhyming words and beginning letter sounds of words through songs, poems and books. Pre-K is exploring writing materials and developing our writing skills.

Each grade decorated a pumpkin for Halloween. Pumpkins depicted Pemaquid Point, a snake that swallowed a pumpkin whole and more! Amazing job done by the pumpkin artists!
Red Ball Tennis, free for K-2nd graders at the CLC YMCA.
The Pre-K to 2nd Grade classes visited the New Harbor Fire Station this week. We learned to stay low and go through smoke; stop, drop and roll; about all of the tools on a fire engine and the heavy rescue and even got to spray the hose! Thank you Bristol Fire and Rescue!
