The Music and Art Celebration with grades PreK-5 is Wednesday, December 11th at 5:30.
Kindergarten students examined owl pellets with Mrs. Pendleton and Mr. Crafts as a concluding activity for their exploration of owls in our K for ME unit.
In art, students are illustrating songs they are singing in the winter concert. Their art will be on display in the gym for viewing before and after the show. Pictured are third graders doing winter landscape collages and fourth graders painting a background for a class mural. -Mrs. Cough
Maine author Lynn Plourde recently visited BCS . Her engaging presentations included Add-on stories, Problem stories and creating the graphic novel about Donn Fendler’s survival story.

8th Grade Bake Sale
As we start Unit 3, Wind and Water, we are continuing to practice and build on the social skills we have been learning this year. We are beginning new learning based on science, which includes studying the weather and how it can affect both people and animals. We will make predictions and explore concepts of science in many different ways! We are continuing to learn about rhyming words, letter sounds and counting concepts in the classroom through hands–on and engaging play experiences.

Just before break, Kindergarten, First and Second Grade students were treated to a balloon parade during lunch. Team Shocki had just completed a project based on the book, Balloons Over Broadway. The students learned about the history of the iconic Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, and then planned and created their own balloons to parade through the gym!

On Friday, Team Shocki finished up their Narrative Writing unit with an Author Celebration. They were able to showcase their best work, including creating special watercolor covers!-Ms. Marlie & Mrs. Bradbury

We were very fortunate to welcome the school based educator from New Hope Midcoast to BCS this week for presentations with grades K-8.
Their messages center on building healthy relationships with all of the classrooms, but also include a focus on safe and kind choices with kindergarten; teamwork and acceptance with grades 1 & 2; friendships and being an upstander to unkind behavior in grades 3 & 4; healthy boundaries, consent and communication in grades 5 & 6; and with 7th and 8th grade, they examine how power and control can influence relationships, as well as sharing information and resources around domestic and dating violence.
