4th graders meeting with their Kindergarten reading buddies. Each 4th grader meets weekly with their buddy and reads a book that their buddy picks out. Later in the year, the Kindergarten friends will begin reading to their 4th grade buddy as they practice their fluency. This weekly activity fosters friendships and academics across grade levels.






Bristol Parks and Recreation is proud to announce the return of youth sports programs held at Bristol Consolidated School for the 2023 school year. The first program this school year is a basketball clinic for 6th through 8th grade girls and boys. The basketball clinic will be held after school from 2:30 to 4:30 on October 30th, November 1st, 2nd, 6th, 8th, and 9th. Each day players will work on basketball skills, learning different drills, and conditioning. The clinic will be coached by Holly Nelson and Dickie McKenney. This 6 day program is $25 for Bristol students and $30 for non-Bristol students.

Students used Canva to practice graphic design while creating a Halloween image.


After observing leaves in art class, first graders made crayon rubbings of the leaves. Then they painted their papers discovering that the crayon resisted the paint. - Mrs. Cough




8th Grade Families: mark your calendar for the Lincoln Academy Prospective Student Open House on Wednesday, November 8 from 6:30-8:00.


Starting next Thursday Oct 19 and every Thursday following, the jump rope club practices will begin from 7:30-8:10am. Anyone in grades K-8 are welcome to participate. Students in grades K-2 should have parents bring them into the gym to check in with the coaches of Ms. Perry or Mrs Holmes for the first time. The D'Air Devils Club Team goal is to teach multiple and different individual, partner, and group skills.

Our elementary students had a great time in music class this week learning about rhythm and beat. They also learned about feeling the beat to songs with a very fun movement activity from "the Dum Dum Song" which is in our photos! - Ms. McCullough




Bristol Science students engaged in structural design challenges this week that will lead up to our tower building Olympiad. Good teamwork proved to be the most effective tool during the design and construction challenges.

This crew of pop up campers will be the first to scope out 400 acres of pristine wilderness in Bristol & Bremen with Hearty Roots at Hart Woods. Plan for a couple of miles of hiking through old growth forests, exploring a 10 acre beaver pond, and embracing fall foliage on this preserved swath of untouched land.

Lincoln Medical Partners will be at BCS on October 11 for their annual flu clinic. Consent forms are being sent home today if you would like your student to have a flu shot at school.


Congratulations to Kestrel and Luke for successfully completing the summer reading challenge. They each read a minimum of 500 minutes and completed the Ride to Read Passport. The Maine DOE will hold a state wide drawing in October for a new bike provided by the Freemasons of Maine. Winners will be notified in November. Kestrel and Luke were presented with a gift card to Sherman’s Book Shop.
